All companies and building owners have legal duty to manage Legionella. This was put in place by the current legislation set out by the Health and safety at Work Act along with the HSE’s updated code of practise known as L8 which was published in 2001.
Legionella is pathogenic group of bacteria, it got its name in July 1976 after an outbreak which was first noticed in people attending a convention of the American Legion, 221 people got sick and 34 of these died. There is over 60 species of legionella and is important that you as a business or building owner know how to manage it, it is your legal duty to ensure everyone who works in your business or building is safe.
Our interactive video based Legionella Management course is aimed to provide the information to businesses and their workers that they need to assist them in identifying the danger that Legionella poses, it also covers ways to identify and asses sources which may pose a Legionella risk in the premises, plus you will learn how to implement and manage a control programme for Legionella.
