The Importance of Food Hygeine at Work
Good practises of food hygiene are crucial in the work place. Getting into routines where food hygiene is a standard practise is essential. This will mean that you avoid cross contamination, illness and even death.
Whether you are preparing food for co-workers or the public, you have a legal and moral obligation to protect the consumer from becoming ill.
The rules and regulations that are set out by the governing bodies must be adhered to. Employers must ensure that all staff are aware of policies and are trained accordingly.
This training can either be done in house or at training centres such as ours. After this training is complete your staff will receive a certificate and qualification in food hygiene safety.
This certificate lets you, the employer, know that they are capable of handling food in a safe manner. This shows that they understand the importance of food hygiene. It also shows that they are responsible for their actions and that they must follow policies and procedures closely.
It is your responsibility as the employer to provide your staff with this training. You are ultimately responsible for any illnesses or deaths that occur due to bad food hygiene practises in your workplace.
Hats, gloves, mask and first aid equipment should always be readily available and used where necessary. This is to make sure that no containments can get in to the food. General hygiene practises are also needed. This means washing your hands between preparing different meats.
Our courses are designed to give your staff all of the knowledge that they need to handle and prepare food properly in the workplace. If you would like any more information about our food hygiene courses then please do contact us today.
